Think Spot Tuesday 20 May (Shirley)

Last week I told you I wanted to tell you four things about God. This is personal. If any of the others in the team did this, it could be four different things.

So we started with God exists.

George Orwell said However much you deny the truth, the truth goes on existing. God exists no matter what you believe.

This week I want to tell you that God loves you.

This is not an airy fairy kind of love like loving the world. His love is very personal. God knows you intimately and loves you intimately. My mother said the closest thing to God’s love is a mother’s love. So think about how much you love your kids and multiply it by a trillion.

So how personal is his interest?

Jesus said Are sparrows not sold for two a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your father’s care.

Around our place we could say pigeons (instead of sparrows). We have hundreds flying around every day. Yet not one falls without God caring about it.

God even know how many hairs you have on your head. That seems incredible when we molt hairs all the time. And new hair grows all the time. 

God’s knowledge and love for you is that intimately personal.
