Term 2 2012
This terms curriculum is called “Huzzah for the King!”. (Huzzah is a word from the
Middle Ages that means “Hooray”) Through a journey back in time to the Middle Ages, “Huzzah for the King!” enables children to learn about godly character traits in a fun and creative environment.
Each lesson, based on a proverb (from the Bible), uses a variety of methods to help the children understand and apply the weekly character trait. During the Middle Agers a herald would proclaim news from the King. Those kids who enjoy a little theater will be able to take a turn at being “Harry the Herald” and announce the days proverb. Jorge the Jester, will bring us comedy and jokes and through this he will introduce the days character trait. We will be learning about, wisdom, generosity, obedience, loyalty, self-control, kindness, love and cheerfulness.
The New Testament story from Jesus’ life gives the children a deeper understanding of the meanings behind the proverbs. It is our prayer that the children will learn how to start developing these characteristics in their lives as the explore, have fun, and take part in the lessons.
The last week for term 2 is Sunday 24 June which will be the date for our Family Service. The kids will take a part in the service. The first week back for term 3 is Sunday 22 July.
We encourate the children to attend our regular church services during the school holidays. Kids packs are handed out during the service.
